Child Care Director: Janelle Flintrop mailto:jflintrop@orlcs.org

Hello and welcome to Our Redeemer Lutheran Childcare!  My name is Janelle Flintrop.  I have been in childcare since 1996.  I have worked with all ages of children.  I came from a large center in New Berlin, where I was the Assistant Director.  My qualifications include; Early Childhood 1 & 2, Center Administrator, Program Director 1, infant/toddler, school age, first aid/CPR training.  I love working in the office because I get to see and help all of the children in the center.  Children are an important part of my life and it is exciting to me to see them all grow up!  I believe that quality care is important from day 1 and am happy to be at a center that provides this for all ages.  I would like everyone to feel welcome and to know that the office door is always open.  Please feel free to stop in at any time!

My husband Matt and I have been married coming up 5 years.  We have been together since high school.  We also have 2 daughters.  Rhiannon is 3 and Korynne is 6 months.  I am originally from Waukesha, but moved out to East Troy after I got married.  In my spare time I enjoy bowling, horseshoes, shopping, Brewers games, and spending time with my family.   I have 2 dogs, which are super spoiled.

I am excited to meet all of you and find out more about your families!

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The purpose of Our Redeemer Lutheran Child Care is to offer Christ as the central focus of the life of every child, so that every facet of their day relates to Christ and His purpose for them. We seek to provide for their physical, social, emotional, cognitive and spiritual needs and to begin to provide the foundation of a Christ centered education.

ADMISSION POLICY

Educational Philosophy

A child is God’s special creation; each one has been given unique gifts and talents. The classroom provides opportunities for children to explore and experiment within a secure and loving environment. The caregiver’s role is to build upon the child’s natural curiosity through providing an age-appropriate curriculum. The total program goal is to bring God’s message of love and salvation to all His little lambs.

Infant and Toddler Program

This program is available for children between the ages of 6 weeks and 24 months. The infant and toddler program is designed to provide nurturing stimulation and lots of tender care. Parents and staff share information daily concerning the child’s routine, unique behaviors and daily events. The children in this program follow their own individual schedules as designed by their parent. The infant child shall be held, talked to, sung to, and exposed to various stimuli throughout the day. The toddler child will be provided with appropriate play experiences that contribute to the developmental needs of the child.

2 year olds through 6 years old

The 2 through 6-year-old program emphasize development of socialization and communication skills through creative play. Teacher prepared activities and curriculum encourage independence and the development of a positive self-image. A combination of self-directed and structured activities allows children to learn at their own pace. The staff provides many experiences and opportunities for children to learn basic skills through books, educational toys, blocks, games, songs, and arts/crafts.

BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

This program is designed for children who are attending Kindergarten through 5th Grade.  It is not an extension of the school day, but allows for supervised free time in a fun, relaxing atmosphere.  Whenever possible, the program will be conducted outside the classroom and may include: preparing the after-school snacks, board games, gym time, outdoor play, organized group play, or attending a volleyball, basketball, soccer, or softball game at our Day School.

 SUMMER PROGRAM

This program will run throughout the school summer vacation period, and is available to children who will enter Kindergarten through 5th Grade in the fall.  Children may participate in a variety of activities located on and off of the premises.  These activities may include: organized play and group games, cooking, art and crafts, outdoor activities, excursions to local parks, public library programs, swim lessons, local field trips, and Vacation Bible School.

teachers to make certain the treat you bring can be served to all of the students.  Our Redeemer adheres to state policies

regarding children with food allergies.  If your child has a particular food allergy, please notify me and the teachers.
