Teachers at our school are certified by the State of Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction as required by Wisconsin state law. In addition, they are also certified by the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod. What is a teacher colloquy program? A number of the faculty members have also continued their education by earning a master’s degree in education. All staff members have extra church responsibilities that include organist, handbell choir, Gabriel’s choir, senior choir accompanist, youth counseling and celebration worship.
Kristi Collins received a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Concordia College River Forest, Il. Ms. Collins taught for two years at Hope Lutheran School on the south side of Chicago from 1984-1986. She then taught 5 years at Hope Lutheran School on the North side of Chicago. She then stayed home several years raising her four children, all who attended and graduated from Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with School. From 2003-2016 Kristi taught in Genoa City, WI. In 2006 Kristi became a National Board Certified Teacher, and recertified in 2015. In 2016, Kristi answered the call to serve as the second principal of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with School.

Pre K3 & 4 – Class Website
Mrs. Finnegan teaches both PK 3 and PK 4. She received her Bachelors degree from Concordia University, River Forest, Illinois. She is originally from the Chicago area, and taught preschool at St. Paul’s Lutheran in Munster, Indiana for 6 years before staying home with her children. Mrs. Finnegan joined the Our Redeemer family in 2015. Mrs. Finnegan is currently working on her Master’s Degree in Special Education, with a focus on Autism, at UW-Whitewater. Mrs. Finnegan and her husband also teach the junior high Sunday School class, FBI.

Mrs. Moehling is our Kindergarten Aide. After earning a teaching degree from UW Whitewater, she stayed home to raise her 2 children then found a place at ORLCS as the Preschool Aide. Thirteen years later she graduated to Kindergarten. Mrs. Moehling is certified to teach Nursery through third grade and she has a minor in art which she loves to put to good use.

Melissa Wallen teaches 1st grade. Melissa attended and graduated from Concordia University, Wisconsin in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education. Her minor was Adaptive Education. Melissa has 9 years of teaching experience in multi-grade classrooms. She joined Our Redeemer in 2016.

Miss Grott Joined Our Redeemer in 2014. She is the 5th Grade Homeroom teacher, teaches 5th and 8th Grade Language Arts, 7th and 8th Grade U.S. History, 7th and 8th Grade Art, and 5th and 6th Grade Physical Education. Kaitlin is from West Lafayette, IN and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Concordia University Wisconsin in December 2012.

6th Grade Homeroom
Miss Rosenberg joined Our Redeemer School in August of 2017. She is the 6th grade homeroom teacher, teaches 5th grade Math, K-8 Spanish, 6th grade Art, and 6th and 7th grade Language Arts. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater in 2012 with a Bachelors of Science in Education and a minor in Spanish. Miss Rosenberg is certified through the Wisconsin Department of Education and holds a current teaching license. She comes to us with extensive experience in a variety of grade levels from her tutoring business for grades 1-8 including Spanish, and long-term and short-term substitute teaching assignments. Miss Rosenberg also has experience as a collegiate volleyball athlete and has been playing piano since she was 6 years old. This will be her second year at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with School.

Mr. Moeller joined Our Redeemer in 2013. He oversees the 7th and 8th grade
homerooms, teaches 6th-8th grade History, Science, P.E., and teaches one level of Mathematics. Joshua also serves as the Bell Choir Director. He is a trained NLSA
consultant and is CPI certified. Joshua is from Roselle, IL and earned two Bachelor’s
Degrees from Concordia University, Wisconsin in December 2012.

Music Teacher – Class Website
Mrs. Penniman teaches general music for grades PK4-5th, directs the Day School children’s choirs, directs the Gabriel’s Choir for grades 6-8 and is the coordinator for the church’s Praise and Worship services. In addition, Mrs. Penniman is our new Resource Room coordinator. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in music from Concordia University at River Forest, Illinois and earned a Master’s degree in Special Education specializing in Emotional/Behavioral Disorders from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Mrs. Ritter joined the Our Redeemer staff in 2016. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with a certification as a Director of Christian Education from Concordia University-Nebraska. Robyn works with a variety of grades and areas within the school as an aide.
