Teachers at our school are certified by the State of Wisconsin
Department of
Public Instruction as required by Wisconsin state law. In addition, they are
also certified by the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. What
is a teacher colloquy program? A number of the
faculty members have also continued their education by earning a master's degree
in education. All staff members have extra church responsibilities that
include organist, handbell choir, Gabriel's choir, senior choir accompanist,
youth counseling and celebration worship.
Cari Alberts - Teaches Spanish to all students Kindergarten
through Eighth Grade. Graduate of Mount Mary College.
Barbara Breytung - Teaches first grade. Bell
Choir Director.
Bachelors Degree from Concordia Teachers College, Seward, Nebraska and a
Master's Degree from University of Wisconsin - Whitewater. A recent winner
of the Kohl Award as outstanding teacher.
Linda Renk - Teaches 5th Grade
Religion, Reading, memory work, 5th-8th English, Spelling, Phonics, Vocab and
Media Center Coordinator.
Serves as the school library media director. Cheerleading coach. Is also the school computer network
administrator. Received a Bachelor and Masters Degree from University of
Wisconsin - Whitewater.
Judy Becker - Teaches Kindergarten. Primary
Choir Director. Earned a
Bachelors Degree from the University of Wisconsin - LaCrosse and a Masters
Degree from the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater.
Brenda Zeuner - Second grade
teacher. Gabriel's Choir Director. Received a Bachelors Degree
from Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Susan Rickman - Teaches
8th Religion, Memory Work, Art, 7th-8th History,,5th-6th Social Studies, 7th-8th
Literature. Also directs the vacation bible
school program. Received a Bachelors Degree from Concordia University in
St. Paul, Minnesota.
Kate Grabow - PreSchool teacher for
the 3-4 year program and 4-5 year program. Received a Bachelors Degree
from the University of Wisconsin - Stout and a Masters Degree from the
University of Wisconsin - Whitewater.
Rebecca Penniman - Third grade
teacher Gabriel's Choir Director. Received a Bachelors Degree from Concordia University at River
Forest, Illinois.
Kirsten Kramer - Teaches 4th Grade
and Reading for the 6th Grade. Received a Bachelors Degree from Concordia
University at River Forest, Illinois and a Masters Degree from Concordia
University at Mequon, Wisconsin.
John Zeuner - Teaches grades 5 & 6,
6th Grade religion, memory Work, 5th-6th Art, science for grades 4 - 8 and physical education for grades 5 - 8. Serves
as the school athletic director and coach. Received a Bachelors Degree
from Concordia University at St. Paul, Minnesota.
Erika Jacobs - Teaches
7th Religion, Memory Work, Art, Math for Grades 5-8 and Algebra. Graduate of Concordia University of Wisconsin. Also served with the Marine Corps in Iraq.

EXPLANATION OF TEACHER COLLOQUY PROGRAM
We have been blessed with two Our Redeemer teachers who have gone back to school
to get their Synodical Training to receive their colloquy into the Missouri
Synod Roster. Some questions have been raised about the program.
Here is a short explanation that might help you understand.
The Teacher Colloquy Program is an intense course of study in Christian
Education which leads to Synodical certification as a Minister of Religion,
Commissioned. It is a joint program of our Concordia Colleges and
Universities. The classes that are taken to meet the requirements are:
Old Testament
New Testament
History of Theology
Lutheran Confessions
Christian Doctrine
Variety of Beliefs
The Lutheran Teacher I
The Lutheran Teacher II
Upon completion of the course work, advisors from one of the Concordia
University System faculties interview the teachers. Upon approval, the
teacher is added to the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod Roster. They are
now eligible to be "called" by a congregation in the Lutheran Church Missouri
Synod. The teacher does not receive any additional pay for "called" status, but
they are strengthened in their service to the children and families of Our
Redeemer through the training of the Lutheran Church and it's application to our
ministry.
Teachers graduating from a synodical College or University receive this
training as part of their regular course work during the four year work towards
a degree.
