Worship at Our Redeemer

The writer to the Hebrews says in chapter 10 " Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near."  Worship is at the heart of all we do at Our Redeemer, it begins for us on Sunday as we gather together in His house, but carries on throughout the week in our school, in the community and in our homes.

In the Lutheran Church, we celebrate the generousity of God by gathering together regularly to worship Him and receive His gifts of grace. While the Bible does not prescibe a specific style of worship, it does guide us to worship reverently and humbly as we come into His presence. At Our Redeemer, we follow a liturgical pattern of worship which we view as a dialog between God and His people. Our musical style varies: sometimes we worship using the organ and hymns; at other times the piano and other instruments are involved with our Joyful Sounds Worship & Praise team.

Divine Service

The Divine Service at Our Redeemer revolves around hymns from the Lutheran Service Book, organ music, and the use of liturgical elements from one of the five Divine Services in the Lutheran Service Book.

Divine Services are typically used on the first, third, and fifth Sundays of the month.

Blended Worship

Our blended service at Our Redeemer includes a mix of praise and contemporary music along with responsive readings and elements of the liturgy. Using a variety of instruments, our 'Joyful Sounds' ensemble provides the music for the congregation to sing along with them.

Blended services are typically used on the second and fourth Sundays of the month.
